PTT is committed to becoming a model organization for sustainability and operational excellence by operating on the foundation of good governance principles. Through knowledge management, technological development, energy innovations, and responsibility to society, PTT’s efforts will focus on fostering mutual development for all stakeholder groups.
PTT developed the PTT Group Sustainability Management Framework, covering the Group’s material sustainability issues, to serve as a management guideline that is comparable to international standards. In establishing the framework, PTT integrated elements from different standards and international best practices, such as guidelines from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) , criteria from the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), Vision 2050 of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), criteria from the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), and ISO 26000 Social Responsibility. Application of the SM Framework is the responsibility of all personnel in PTT Group, to be applied as appropriate to each business. Furthermore, PTT has been involved as a member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), implementing principles which cover areas of human rights, labor standards, environmental issues and anti-bribery and corruption. PTT has additionally encouraged all companies in PTT Group to apply principles of good governance, transparency and responsibility towards all host countries by supporting the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiatives (EITI), in alignment with the 10 principles of UNGC
In conducting business according to the aforementioned standards, PTT became the first Thai company in the Oil and Gas Industry Group (OIX), to be listed as a Member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) in 2012, through participation in the RobecoSAM Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) covering economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Since then, PTT has been listed as a DJSI member for four consecutive years. Concurrently, PTT supports all invited companies in PTT Group to participate in the RobecoSAM CSA in order to benchmark their status in comparison with other companies in the same industry. This will help PTT Group to manage risks and identify business opportunities for continued and sustainable growth.
In addition, PTT has been involved in various initiatives and institutions at the national level, including: Petroleum Institute of Thailand, Thailand Business Council for Sustainable Development (TBCSD) , Thai Listed Companies Association , Green World Foundation , Corporate Social Responsibility Institute Club, Thailand Environment Institute (TEI), Oil Industry Environmental Safety Group Association, Thai Institute of Directors.
