PTT Group's First Quarter of 2021 Results Rebound from Petrochemical and Refining Businesses Recovery
Mr. Auttapol Rerkpiboon, President and Chief Executive Officer, PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) disclosed that the revenue of PTT Group in the first quarter of 2021 rose 17.4 % (Baht 70,663 million) to Baht 477,837 million from the fourth quarter of 2020. PTT’s Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) in the first quarter of 2021 were Baht 102,997 million, a rise of Baht 31,383 million or 43.8% from the previous quarter.
The improving performance of all business groups - the petrochemical and refining group in particular - is attributable to the rising petroleum and petrochemical prices in the global market driven by the overall economic recovery after the easing of the closure measures as well as more vaccination against COVID-19 in many countries. The net income of PTT and its subsidiaries in the first quarter of 2021 was Baht 32,588 million, an increase of Baht 19,441 million or over 100% from Baht 13,147 million in the previous quarter.
