Due to the spread of the novel coronavirus, 2019 (COVID-19) in Thailand, much needed medical products such as alcohol are insufficient. Therefore, the Excise Department has issued two announcements to allow manufacturers to donate or sell alcohol for public health purposes.
Today (March 12, 2020) – Mr. Auttapol Rerkpiboon, President and Chief Operating Officer, PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) , together with the executives, delivered 15,000 liters of high-quality alcohol of pharmaceutical grades. The alcohol has been procured from the producers meeting the criteria for the supply to the Pharmaceutical Organization specified in the latest announcement of the Excise Department. Dr.Withoon Danwiboon M.D., Managing Director of the Pharmaceutical Organization as a representative accepted the high-quality alcohol which will be produced as disinfectant for use in relevant medical and government agencies to support the work of the authorities in controlling the outbreak and taking care of the public, thus help prevent and control the spread of the disease to the Thai people.
"We sincerely hope that the covid-19 pandemic will subside soon. PTT Group is ready to support if there is any additional need to help Thai people. We are sending moral support to all healthcare workers who have sacrificed and would like to send best wishes to patients to recover soon," Mr. Attapol Added.
