Q : If there is a gas leak on an NGV-fueled vehicle, what should the motorist do?

A :

When there's a gas leak, the motorist should:

1. Close the gas tank valve
2. Switch to oil
3. Go back to the NGV engine installation garage for repair.

Q : For long-distance driving, can gas be solely used or should gas and oil be used alternately? If alternate use is necessary, how should switching be done?

A :
Normally, oil is used to start the vehicle and then the engine can be switched to NGV.  Oil should be used again nearer the destination.

A :
The document required at every inspection site is a copy of your car registration.

Q : Where can I ask for a map of PTT NGV stations?

A :
Customers may search from the PTT website or from the ‘PTT NGV’ mobile application by download from App Store or Google Play

Q : Is it safe to do NGV refueling during a thunderstorm?

A :
During a thunderstorm, it is still safe for NGV refueling since the station is designed with a reliable safety system.  In addition to the lightning rod, a ground rod is installed near the dispenser.  However, NGV refueling may sometimes be denied when the POS box (housing the computerized sales system) is soaked with rain, halting the system; the station therefore tries to avoid NGV refueling in such situation.  PTT is currently installing a raincover over every POS box, starting from those stations with heavy user traffic.

Q : Why is low gas pressure encountered at some stations?

A :
Due to the heavy user traffic during some certain periods, all gas dispensers are often used concurrently, causing the refueling pressure to drop and resulting in slow refueling.  To solve the problem, some dispensers have had to be temporarily shut down.

Q : Why isn’t NGV price standardized across the country?

A :
PTT has in place an NGV pricing structure, agreed by the National Energy Policy Council at its meetings No. 5/2545 and 7/2550.  For stations situated within 50 km, no transport cost is added to the gas price; for those lying beyond 50 km., the transport cost is added in accordance with the distance.

Q : What is PTT’s policy on making NGV sales price in integers (satang)?

A :
PTT has earlier sent a note to all NGV stations to inform them about the regulation on standardized fair integer price (change).  If customers come across any station violating such rule, they may raise the matter at PTT Call Center (press 5 for NGV) for inspection and remedy.  Moreover, to minimize mistakes in giving change, the exact amount of change is printed on the receipt currently used.

Q : Why does the word ‘duplication’ appear on the tax invoice received from the station?

A :
A tax invoice with the word ‘duplication’ is a ‘goods receipt slip note’, issued in place of the receipt/tax invoice.

Q : If a mistake is found on the receipt/tax invoice, what should I do?

A :
If a mistake is found on the receipt/tax invoice, customers must fill out the ‘Request for Revised Receipt/Tax Invoice Form’.  Such request must be made within two months, and the original copy of receipt/tax invoice needing correction must be attached.

Q : If my receipt/tax invoice is damaged or lost, what should I do?

A :

If a receipt/tax invoice is damaged or lost, customers must fill out the ‘Request for Issuance of a Replacement/Copy of Receipt/Copy of Tax Invoice Form’.  Such request must be filed within two months along with a receipt/tax invoice (for damage case) and a police daily report (for loss case) attached.

Alternatively, customers may scan the QR Code to verify data of the two previous days from the date of the receipt/tax invoice.  Also, customers may click https://taxngv.pttplc.com and provide information as seen on the receipt/tax invoice.

A :

70 liters 14 kg Personal cars 1 per vehicle

A :
o You may find out names and addresses of NGV dealers, inspectors, and testers (ref. Dept. of Land Transport) from the www.dlt.go.th

Q : What is ‘NGV of new specifications’? Is it compatible with vehicles in general?

A :
NGV of new specifications (NGV Plus) suits vehicles requiring a calorific value of 44–52 MJ/m3 (Wobbe Index).  It provides good acceleration rates; vehicles filled with NGV Plus can cover greater distances with better energy economics.  Currently, NGV Plus is available at 4 PTT NGV stations, namely NGV Pannee Power Station, Pathum Thani; NGV Sooksomkiat Transport (2004) Station, Sara Buri; NGV PTT Nam Phong Station, Khon Kaen; and PTT NGV Khao Khansong Sriracha, Chonburi.

Q : How can I know the expiration date of a CNG tank?

A :
Since each gas tank has different years of service, depending on the manufacturers, please check the tank’s expiration date as marked on the tank.  For example, ‘DO NOT USE AFTER 05/2026’ signifies that the tank should not be used beyond May 2026.

Q : Can NGV motorists increase their refueling quotas after having installed a larger tank or more tanks? If so, what should they do?

A :

Q : Can the right for public taxi drivers to receive a NGV price discount be used outside defined areas?

A :
The discount cannot be used at NGV stations outside Bangkok and periphery (Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakorn, Nakorn Pathom)

Q : Why is NGV sold in kilograms?

A :
Since NGV is a type of gas lighter than the air, compression is needed to obtain a volume sufficient for combustion.  Gas compression is carried out in cubic meter unit (m3), whereas 1 m3 is approximately equivalent to 1 kilogram.  The kilogram unit is therefore used in NGV sale.
