NGV Vehicle Care and Maintenance

  1. Ensure that the coolant levels in the tank and the radiator are as required by the standard
  2. Since engine starts always call for gasoline, there should be at least one-third of gasoline left in the tank to prevent damage to the fuel pump
  3. Since certain pieces of equipment are electrically driven, these should be kept dry
  4. Replace lubricants as advised by car manufacturers
  5. Clean the air filter every 1,000 kilometers and replace it every 10,000 kilometers
  6. Replace the gas filter every 40,000 kilometers or annually
  7. Replace the spark plugs every 40,000 kilometers
  8. Inspect and set the valve seat every 40,000-60,000 kilometers
  9. Both fuels should be used every day to lengthen the service life of valve seats
  10. Check for leaks in the NGV tubes monthly by lathering the tubes and NGV equipment or using a gas leak detector
  11. Whenever NGV smell is detected, stop using the NGV system at once. Switch to gasoline, close the tank cap valve, and take your vehicle to an installation center
  12. Take the vehicle in for NGV equipment inspection by installation center experts.

Preliminary Problem-Solving

CauseSolution
  1. Engine dies during switch to NGV
  1. Gas ECU malfunctions
Switch to oil system and take vehicle to installation center
  1. NGV tank empty
Refill with NGV or switch to oil system
  1. Burned-out NGV control fuse
Replace fuse (consult expert on fuse location)
  1. Engine has no power or little acceleration when running on NGV
  1. NGV in tank nearly empty
Refill with NGV or switch to oil system
  1. Pressure regulator gets dirty or clogged
Switch to oil system and ask expert to inspect
  1. Irregular or unsuitable NGV dispensation
Switch to oil system and ask expert to inspect
  1. Higher fuel consumption
  1. Clogged air filter
Clean or replace air filter
  1. NGV leak
Close tank valve and ask expert to inspect
  1. Gas ECU control system malfunctions
Ask expert to inspect or re-tune system

When NGV Vehicles Have an Accident

  1. If you smell gas or detect a gas leak, park and stop the engine at once
  2. Immediately close the valve at the tank top and refrain from ignition-causing actions
  3. If there is no additional gas leak, switch to the oil system and restart the engine. Then take your vehicle in to an installation center for further inspection.
  4. If the car catches fire, immediately stop the engine to disengage the high-pressure solenoid valve. Dash away from the car or try to put the fire out at its source by using suitable extinguishers like ABC chemical powder.
